Bummin' week 2

Last year I was riding on the 22nd. Which means they were making snow a few weeks before. First week of ITC got going and we were already shredding. Now it's the coming up on the second full weekend and it has been snowing for a few days now. It was in the 50's today! And in the 7 day forecast we are only looking at a high of 41. This is no good for a guy with that itch. I'm thinking it will be near Christmas before I get on snow. ridiculous. Not only that my friend Katie is home from Tahoe for the holiday, and she informed me that they got 4 feet in Tahoe. Lamesky.

Also I learned a new thing from someone at the bonfire. It's called "sauce" and all you gotta do is brush the bottom of someones chin and say sauce. It's so weird but it makes me giggle!

Bummin'

Thanksgiving is a few short days away, and I get to hang out with a dear friend this week. That is all that is going well right now. Final projects are looming near. The temperature is still to high to make snow. On top of that it looks like it will rain all week. My least favorite kind of precipitation. Not to mention the perilous nature of my housing at the moment. These last few years I've lived for the snow. At first it was just to fulfill a promise and then it became much more. I fell in love all over again with the sport. Then this past year I found that teaching it may equal or surpass the actual riding itself. And what really sets it apart is how at the end of most everyday I can just sit and be happy as a clam, with no wants but more vertical on our mountain. I get the exercise I need and the endorphin boost with it.

Now I don't know if I have the seasonal depression like some folks in the grey northeast do. I'm not one to add disorders to my mostly normal brain, unlike one of my teens who insists on short-term memory loss. But if saying I do lets me ride more I'm all for it.

Starbucks

There are those who drink the sludge obsessively. I however cannot. I rarely go to any Starbucks but the one at the Mtn. However I recently went with a friend to one in Quincy. I wasn't quite sure if I was 'hip' enough to even darken the doors of such an establishment. So just to make sure I put on a scarf like any good yuppie. I however do not make good money and only appear to be such a person. With the scarf warming my apparently cold neck the barista quickly came to ask me for my order. I presume she observed my scarf and wanted to assist me warm my frigid throat. Of course I was quickly found out to be an outsider when I was unable to order a drink using their measurement units or string several words into a massive compound word/sentance. My friend embarrassed, covered for me by paying. It signified my true alien nature but her expertise overshadowed my ignorance.

Why we got coffee at 9pm I have no idea.

The Timmy

This is Timmy. Sit back turn on some music and enjoy.

8 years old and tearing it up.

Getting Ready

It's Nov. 17th and it doesn't look like we'll be starting on the 22nd like last year. I took today to begin getting for the coming season. I got all my new ProForm gear this week and have hung up and ready to go. Cleaned up the room, and went through all my jackets, soon I'll set up my boards. If I had an iron I'd be waxing too. I found so much stuff in my jackets. I got a bullet tool next to me and a notebook, business card, a handful of change, couple sticks of chapstick, as well as a trail map from jay peak, and probably my favorite a Honduran 20 (a tip from a cool student). I got a few jackets packed up to donate. Threw away a bunch of socks too. I've been wearing sanuk's for a few months now and I don't really wear socks much anymore.

I've been trying to figure out how to work out and prep for the season and so today I grabbed my vew-do board and pushed the furniture to the side of the room and hopped on. After about five minutes I found that this wasn't such a bad workout. I was gonna try for 30 minutes but after fifteen I was already tired. It's gonna be my daily workout for the next month I think. Can't wait for the real snow to drop.

Crazy

Right now everything is crazy for me. Weather, roommates, work, and Me.
Today I nearly grabbed one of my favorite and most ridiculous winter coats to head out the door, but I checked the outside temp. when I was making my morning tea. It said 50 around 8:30 and the way it warms through the day I wasn't even sure if I'd need a hoodie at all. Turns out I didn't, the weather is crazy, I dunno if we'll get to be making snow on time this year or not. 3 full weeks till Turkey day and we are supposed to be riding. But with this kinda weather and the nighttime drop staying in the mid thirties for the next week, I wonder and worry.
We recently let in a few people in need of a roof for a few days, now we are headed towards a couple weeks. An excessive amount of people in the house and probably to many cats in the basement as well. They like cats... I enjoy conflict but I only pay a minority of the rent so I have held my peace so far. Hopefully we will be moving shortly.
I got a job offer with a cool ministry called extreme nazarene. Whether I'll take it or not I'm not quite sure. It was a helpful sign however, to get me out of Worcester. I am currently beginning to transition out of my Youth Min position in Worcester, which is fortunate as the Mtn will be opening up shortly. Will this be my last year? I have no idea. It depends on what happens out there. I hope to shred as hard as I can.
I'm hoping to be moving out of the area in the spring. I'm looking towards Quincy, Nashua, and Concord. Three of the best youth groups can be found there, but I have more friends/potential roommates in Quincy. I don't know many people in Nashua. Only a few more in Concord. Oh well. I pray it all works out.
